Simon Atkins, M.A.
Simon Atkins is a certified professional coach with over 20 years of experience providing communications and coaching services to senior executives of leading corporations in Canada.
In 1999, Simon founded Socratic Communications, which offers a range of coaching services designed to help organizations move towards their defined goals. Services include one-on-one executive coaching, facilitation, media communications training, and team coaching and development.
The Socratic Communications’ method is to use thought provoking questions to help clients shape and frame their goals for performance, learning and growth, and then facilitate finding solutions through creative problem solving.
Through his coaching services, Simon provides senior executives with leadership, communications, conflict resolution, and presentation skills development. Based on Adlerian psychological principles, Simon’s approach to coaching is to help his clients gain a deeper insight into their cognitive and behavioural schemata, and learn how this influences their strategic decision making processes and communications style. With this new awareness, clients make significant progress towards developing leadership and communications abilities that are aligned with their organizations’ goals.
Simon is a Team Coach with the Queen’s-Cornell Universities Executive MBA program. He is also affiliated with the Mobius Executive Leadership organization based in Boston, Massachusetts.
As a coach and consultant, Simon has worked with a diverse range of clients including Apple Computer, IBM, Dell, Phillips, Compaq, Lotus, Rogers Communications, Coveo, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Novatel, Moosehead Breweries, Gap Canada, CIBC Mellon, Nike Canada, Thomson Nelson, and Deloitte Consulting.
